Social Sew In joins Transition Worcester
New to Transition Worcester is the Social Sew In group that was formed by community volunteers and the Duckworth Worcestershire Trust in 2014.
Over the past ten years they have provided free access to sewing equipment to allow for DIY repairs and expert knowledge to help with textile and clothing repair and reworking.
They held succussful clothes swaps in the Pump House Environment Centre before it’s closure and with their careful data collection calculated they had saved over 50 tonnes of carbon by encouraging the reuse of textiles before landfill.
They are happy to finally report that they have a new home in Worceter and will restart their social sew in sessions in September. Follow their socials to find out when and where.
